Short Essay on Meghan Aileen

Meghan Aileen is a small town girl from New Jersey. she lives in LA were she has started in

illustration but her photographs stay “timeless and nostalgic”. she has a degree in illustration

and works in the world of commercial art for a couple years now. she worked for Nickelodeon,

Sony, and even Playboy working with the design system and illustration. But she chose

photography. she started photography as a hobby and as part of her design work. she chose

to make it her main business in 2006. she became a photographer when she looked at her

own wedding photographer. she was drawn to others work and talent. from this she realized

that wedding photography could be so creative and different. She states her enthusiam: “I was

captivated by the idea of documenting the start of a new family as well as all the generations

coming together and of course the gorgeous details and style!” she began her own business

because she thought that from her skills prepared from the design business was the best thing

for her. What makes her unique is her landscape choosing, romantic poses, and a combination

of classic and modern style with a vintage style. she spends a lot of time on weddings. Her

favorite thing to do with weddings is what she calls “Concept Bridal”. She takes these pictures

after the wedding so they can trash the dress but with a more of a concept and less trashing,

like an editorial. She loves to use a 50mm 1.2. it is the first Canon lens she bought. It makes the

color have depth and an ethereal feel.
